XCAD Update 2.7.8 — XP System & more
The latest XCAD update is due to go live within the next 24 hours, here’s an overview of all the most important elements included.
PLAY XP System
The XP System is going live within the next 24 hours. Originally, NFT characteristics were set in stone; once a PLAY NFT had been minted, its levels were randomly generated, and these would impact the earning power of an NFT. Now, as you watch videos, you will not only earn PLAY, but you will also earn XP, which will level up your Nerd’s characteristics & earning power.
The NFT characteristics are:
- Reputation
- Luck
- Speed
- Stamina
Each video watched will earn XP, which will be randomly attributed to one of your NFT characteristics. Once you have gained enough XP for a specific attribute, it will upgrade to the next level and the XP will reset to 0.
For example, to go from level 1, to level 2 requires 5,000 XP.
Please note, this is the XP required per attribute. For example, upgrading an NFT with level 1 attributes to level 2 across all 4 attributes would require 20,000 XP. Furthermore, an NFT’s rarity will not change with the attribute upgrades. For example, a common Nerd that upgrades from level 5 reputation to level 6 will remain a common Nerd.
For now, XP will be earned simply by watching videos. In the future, the XP system will become more complex, for example, users will be able to complete challenges to earn XP.
Please note, XP earned for now will be given out the next day, along with rewards. It'll be switching to instant XP, relatively soon.
PLAY XP Boosts are coming:
Shortly after the release of the XP system, we will be releasing XP boosts. These XP boosts will be purchasable with PLAY and a small amount of XCAD. They will add 10x the experience points to the NFT attributes while the boost is active. Boosts will last for 5 videos each time and will be essential for users to out compete other players and upgrade the fastest. The higher PLAY rewards will also be at the higher NFT levels, so the users who boost daily will be greatly rewarded.
Referrals are now unlimited:
Referrals have been a huge hit with PLAY, with many users taking advantage of the 5% referral bonus they get by recommending friends. Previously, once a code had been used, a user would have to wait 5 days to generate another one. Going forward, once a referral code has been used, users will only have to wait 1 minute to generate a new code. We’ve implemented this as many users had complained that friends who had taken the code, but not minted, were slowing their ability to refer users to PLAY.
950 New PLAY Channels & All channels operational
We have added 950 new YouTube channels to the PLAY area. This is a significant step forward in improving the user experience and increasing the variety of YouTubers from whom PLAY users can earn. Moreover, some users were experiencing issues with certain channels in different languages; this has now been resolved, so all channels supported within the plug-in are operational.
Season Pass Functionality
The season pass is set to be released very soon, all the backend work has been included and it is ready to be available to users, as soon as the new season begins. We have included banners within the app to explain how it works and its benefits. The season pass will give exclusive PLAY benefits, users will need to lock XCAD to access it. The team will release soon regarding the start date for season 1.

iOS
All development has been completed for the iOS app and its inclusion of the PLAY Area. Real-time updates are currently unavailable. Our submission has been sent to the Apple Store and we anticipate a few rounds of back-and-forth communication similar to what we had with the fan token area. This process is beyond our control at the moment. Please stay tuned for further updates, which we will share as soon as they become available.
